DESCRIPTION:
Tobias Klein has reported a vulnerability in avast!, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service) or gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "aavmker4.sys"
kernel driver when processing certain IOCTLs. This can be exploited
to corrupt kernel memory via a specially crafted 0xb2d60030 IOCTL.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code with
kernel privileges.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 5.0.418.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 5.0.418.
